Manchester pair jailed and banned from Island for five years

Mark Jones, 47, and Reece Coley, 32, were sentenced at the Court of General Gaol Delivery for conspiring to remove criminal cash from the Isle of Man. Jones made four trips to the Island collecting drugs money for a UK gang running cocaine and ketamine onto the Island, netting around £40,000; Coley: known within the gang as “IoM money drop”: handled roughly £25,000 in cash collections. Jones got 28 months, Coley 23, and both are excluded from the Island for five years after release.

Police complaints more than double in a year

The Police Complaints Commissioner’s annual report shows 28 complaints received in 2025-26, against just 13 the year before. None have been wholly substantiated and only five partially, mostly minor issues like inappropriate language, with 16 of 31 cases still ongoing. The Commissioner says it’s too early to draw conclusions on policing standards while investigations continue.

Armed police callouts up two-thirds in three years
